Nestled in south-western Uganda along the edge of the Rift Valley, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of Africa’s oldest and most diverse rainforests, dating back over 25,000 years. This UNESCO World Heritage Site shelters more than 400 plant species and a remarkable array of wildlife, including nearly half of the world’s mountain gorillas.

Bwindi offers one of the most captivating wildlife adventures on earth — gorilla trekking, where visitors can meet these gentle giants up close in their natural habitat. Established in 1993 with the habituation of the Mubare Gorilla Group, Bwindi has since become a global model for sustainable tourism and conservation, hosting 25 gorilla groups, nine open to visitors.

Beyond the gorillas, the park enchants with misty trails, waterfalls, rich birdlife, and cultural encounters with the Batwa people, the forest’s original inhabitants.

Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, our company guide will warmly welcome you and brief you about the journey ahead. You will then embark on a scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in south-western Uganda.
Enjoy en-route views of rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and beautiful roadside markets. A stopover at the Equator Line in Kayabwe offers great photo opportunities. Lunch will be served in Mbarara, before continuing to Bwindi.

Dinner and Overnight: Lodge near Bwindi (Buhoma, Rushaga, or Ruhija sector)

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Adventure

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking. Accompanied by expert guides and rangers, you’ll venture deep into the rainforest in search of one of the habituated gorilla families.
Once found, spend an unforgettable hour observing their behavior, interactions, and the serenity of their world — a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

After the trek, return to your lodge for relaxation and an evening at leisure.

Day 3: Nature Walk and Bird Watching

Today, explore the forest’s incredible biodiversity through a guided nature walk. Discover rare plants, colorful butterflies, and waterfalls hidden within the misty jungle.
Bwindi is also a bird watcher’s paradise, home to over 350 bird species, including Albertine Rift endemics. Your guide will help you spot species like the African Green Broadbill and Rwenzori Turaco.

Spend the afternoon unwinding at the lodge or exploring the nearby communities.

Day 4: Cultural Encounter with the Batwa People

After breakfast, immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of the Batwa pygmies, the forest’s original inhabitants.
Join a Batwa cultural tour, where they demonstrate traditional hunting, fire-making, and storytelling through dance and song. Learn how they lived harmoniously with the forest before its gazettement as a national park.

In the afternoon, enjoy scenic views or optional community walks to support local crafts and conservation projects.

Day 5: Return Journey to Kampala or Entebbe

After breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, with a lunch stop in Mbarara. Along the way, enjoy the breathtaking landscapes of western Uganda one last time.
Your guide will drop you at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight.
