Tour overview
The Royal Mile, meaning “The King Loves Me,” is a one-mile stretch connecting the Kabaka’s Palace (Lubiri) at Mengo to Bulange, the Buganda Kingdom’s parliament. It symbolizes the strong link between royal leadership and governance.
Lined with beautiful sculptures of clan totems, the road showcases Buganda’s cultural heritage. At its center lies the Nantawetwa Roundabout, which the Kabaka alone passes straight through—a mark of royal honor.
This scenic avenue offers visitors a rich cultural and historical experience, making it one of Uganda’s must-visit attractions for anyone interested in history, art, and tradition.
